Bottas: Mexico City GP pole 'one of my best laps' ever

Valtteri Bottas pulled off a crucial pole position for the 2021 Mexico City Grand Prix in a dramatic conclusion to Saturday's qualifying session at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Mercedes had been looking up against it throughout practice despite Bottas having set the pace in FP1. After that, Red Bull pair Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had pulled out a seemingly insurmountable advantage. But Bottas was back on top again when he was fastest in the first round of qualifying, and his team mate Lewis Hamilton went top in Q2 to set up a thrilling showdown with Verstappen and Perez in the final top ten pole shoot-out.
