Ricciardo gets dream run in Earnhardt's 1984 NASCAR!

Article To news overview © McLaren Daniel Ricciardo completed a "dream" test drive in Dale Earnhardt's 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the Circuit of the Americas on Saturday. In a pre-season bet between McLaren boss Zak Brown and new-signing Ricciardo, it was agreed that if the Australian claimed a podium finish in 2021, he would be given the chance to drive Earnhardt's car. The car is owned by Brown, who boasts an extensive collection of race-winning machines. Ricciardo races with the number 3 in F1 as a tribute to Earnhardt, who died in a crash at Daytona in 2001. He is also sporting a special Earnhardt-themed helmet design at this weekend's Grand Prix in the United...
