Formula 1's mandatory summer shutdown has begun!

Article To news overview © Red Bull Formula 1 teams are on an enforced holiday as of today, Monday 9 August. F1 introduced a mandatory 14 day shutdown in August as part of the regulations back in 2013, with the intention of forcing teams to ensure personnel are given a mid-season break. That 14 day period began on 9 August, and will be lifted on the 23 August. For that time period, teams aren't permitted to do any development or research work or any sort of tinkering with the cars. Basically, with a few exceptions, the teams aren't allowed to do anything car-related. You can read more in our explanation here. Teams can still continue with marketing activities as they wish.
