Saudi Arabia wants earlier calendar spot: "Often it's already been decided"

Although the new Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, to be held in Jeddah this year, is late on the calendar, those organising the race prefer to look for a race at the start of the Formula One season. This year the race is scheduled for December 5, a week before the season finale in Abu Dhabi. As the current COVID situation makes an opening race in Australia in 2022 unlikely, it could be that we kick off 2022 in the Middle East again, with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
