Vandoorne secures Mercedes pole for London E-Prix

In the qualifying battle for the E-Prix in London it was Stoffel Vandoorne who set the fastest lap and took pole position. He managed to stay ahead of yesterday's polesitter, Alex Lynn of Mahindra racing. In Q1 it was Mercedes-teammate Nyck de Vries who set the time to beat. The Frisian driver's 1.20.511 was quickly improved upon in the second and third groups, which is not uncommon given the qualifying format in Formula E, where track conditions improve over the course of the qualifying sessions.
