AlphaTauri carrying out two day test on 18 inch tyres

Article To news overview © Pirelli The latest 18 inch tyre test ahead of their 2022 introduction is underway in Austria, with AlphaTauri fielding Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda for two days of track time at the Red Bull Ring. With Formula 1 introducing the larger wheels and tyres next season, an intensive test programme is taking place throughout the year with all teams, apart from Williams, supplying modified mule cars for the purpose of the tests. These mule cars are old 2018/2019 cars, modified to run the different brakes and suspensions needed for the larger wheels. Pierre Gasly will drive the mule car on Tuesday, with Yuki Tsunoda taking over at the wheel on Wednesday. You must accept...
