Hulkenberg confirms double role for Mercedes and Aston Martin

Article To news overview © Getty After being a substitute driver for Racing Point in 2020, Nico Hulkenberg has confirmed he will continue in that role for Aston Martin and Mercedes this season. The news had been in the works for quite some time, with the German himself confirming talks with the Silver Arrows in recent weeks. Hulkenberg made the news official while speaking ahead of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix. "This year I will be working as a substitute driver for Aston [Martin] and also for Mercedes in select races," Hulkenberg told ServusTV. Hulkenberg competed in three races for Racing Point last season, stepping in for the likes of Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.
