Alonso suffers fractured jaw, expected to be fit for Bahrain

Fernando Alonso has suffered a fractured jaw following a cycling accident on Thursday but his Alpine team expects him to be ready in time for the start of the 2021 Formula 1 season. Alonso was hospitalised in Switzerland in the wake of suffering an accident while out cycling. Alonso was kept under observation and a fracture was located in his upper jaw. A successful corrective operation was carried out and the attending medical team are satisfied with his progress. He is expected to remain in hospital until Sunday.
