Norris set to take engine grid drop penalty

Lando Norris is set to start the Sakhir Grand Prix from the back of the field after McLaren opted to install new power unit components ahead of the race. A fourth internal combustion engine and turbocharger has been fitted to Norris’ car overnight, exceeding the quota of three elements that can be used penalty-free during the year. Norris endured a difficult qualifying session on Saturday, dropping out in Q2 as the slowest driver on the timesheet. However, he will now drop further back, joining Pietro Fittipaldi on the last row of the grid, who also received a penalty due to power unit changes.
