Alonso gets green light for Abu Dhabi Renault test

Renault has received permission from the FIA to field Fernando Alonso at this month’s post-season test in Abu Dhabi. Formula 1 will stay on at the Yas Marina Circuit for a one-day test on December 15, two days after the season-ending grand prix at the venue. The test had initially been open only to drivers with two or fewer starts grand prix starts but this has now been tweaked. It means that Alonso, who will return to Formula 1 with the rebranded Alpine squad next season, will be able to have a full day behind the wheel of Renault’s R.S.20.
