Hamilton: 'I hope he has forgiven me by now'

Lewis Hamilton hopes former McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh can finally forgive him for leaving the team after 2012. McLaren had included Hamilton in her programme at a young age, but in 2013 he traded the team from Woking for Mercedes. McLaren period Hamilton made his debut at McLaren in 2007 and was immediately successful. With four victories, the Briton competed directly for the world title in his first season. A year later in 2008 Hamilton captured his first title after a bizarre finale in Brazil. In total Hamilton won 21 Grands Prix in six seasons for McLaren.
