Ex-Ferrari chief: ‘Binotto is too alone'

Ferrari’s former chairman Luca di Montezemolo believes Mattia Binotto is unfairly being left to carry the can single-handedly for the Italian giants’ F1 struggles. From being perennial World Championship challengers, Ferrari have descended into the midfield so far in 2020 with their power unit lacking the performance of its Mercedes counterpart as a consequence of Technical Directives issued by the FIA. But of more concern to Di Montezemolo, who founded the Formula One Teams Association, is that Binotto does not have the support of a strong team around him, unlike the days when the Italian giants were dominating the sport with Michael Schumacher their star driver.
