Bottas/Leclerc home visits were ‘allowed'

Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc have insisted they did not breach F1 health protocols by breaking out of their ‘bubble’ to go home this week. Team members are required to stay in designated ‘bubbles’ to minimise health risks as a result of the global pandemic which caused the start of the season to be delayed by four months. Rather than remaining in Spielberg between the Austrian Grand Prix and the Styrian Grand Prix, both at the Red Bull Ring, Bottas and Leclerc – who finished first and second respectively at the curtain-raiser – popped home independently to Monaco.
