Monza set for contract extension until 2024
Italian Grand Prix officials have confirmed that an initial agreement has been reached to keep Formula 1 at Monza until 2024, although a formal contract is yet to be signed. The historic racetrack's contract with Formula 1 ends this season, with a new deal with F1 rights holder Liberty Media yet to be finalised. However, on Wednesday, it appeared that Monza's place on the calendar is safe for a few more years. President of the Automobile Club d'Italia, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, has confirmed that an agreement regarding the financial position of the race has been agreed with Liberty and that a verbal understanding has been reached to keep the Italian Grand Prix at Monza until 2024.
