Vettel: 2009 defeat felt worse than 2018

Sebastian Vettel believes losing to Jenson Button in 2009 felt worse than losing to Lewis Hamilton this year. In Mexico, Hamilton moved 64 points ahead with just two races left making it mathematically impossible to be caught. The four-time World Champion missed out on winning the title in 2009, 2017 and now this year. In 2009, he lost out to Button by just 11 points despite the Brawn GP driver failing to win a race in the second half of the season. "I have been three times now in a position like that with '17, '09 and this year. Probably '09 was the worst one, the lowest point. You never know what next year brings so you never know whether you get another chance," Vettel said....
