Verstappen escapes punishment for FP1 reversing manoeuvre

Monaco Grand Prix – The stewards have decided to take no further action on Max Verstappen's reversing manoeuvre at turn one. The Red Bull driver was under investigation for the way in which he rejoined the circuit after taking to the escape road at Sainte Devote. After a lock-up on the approach to turn one, Verstappen took to the escape road in a bid to avoid hitting the barrier. Whilst the initial lock-up was of no concern to stewards, he elected to reverse onto the track in order to rejoin the circuit.
