Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Hamilton survives comedy of errors

Lewis Hamilton won an action-packed Azerbaijan Grand Prix, to open his victory account in 2018 and take the lead in the championship after surviving a comedy of errors that led to an unlikely victory in Baku, his first at the venue. Indeed it was a somewhat subdued Lewis Hamilton who acknowledged victory, knowing full well that lady luck was on his side, having abandoned his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas who drove a solid race and leading after a late safety car period. But shortly after the restart, a right rear tyre blew up with victory in his sights handing the lead and subsequent victory to his teammate. Report in progress…
