Ex-Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan has hinted at Adrian Newey's next move following his exit from Red Bull.
The reigning world champions confirmed earlier this week that Newey will depart the organisation in early 2025.
Jordan, who ran his own F1 team from 1991 to 2005, played a key role in the negotiations between Red Bull and Newey in the lead-up to the departure.
Speaking on his Formula For Success podcast with co-host David Coulthard, Jordan highlighted the consistent pressure Newey has been under during his 19 years at Red Bull.
“I’m joining you [Coulthard] on the fence, I’m not going to say what is likely my advice - but we do speak a lot,” Jordan said.
“If I’m being honest, in all the time we cycle [together] there wouldn’t be any professional interference or looking for knowledge.
“This is just idle gossip as you would stop for a coffee.
“Remember that he’s been in Red Bull under constant pressure. He started off in that team in a very lowly seventh or eighth in the championship.
“I don’t know how many races they have won now with him and Christian [Horner, team principal] there, it’s probably about 118 [sic] or thereabouts - that’s ridiculous amounts of pressure.”

Newey could 'cruise for a while'
Newey has been linked with a move to Ferrari with reports emerging in Italian media that team principal Frederic Vasseur flew to London earlier this week to meet the 65-year-old.
However, Jordan has suggested that Newey is more likely to lay low rather than dive into another F1 commitment straight away.
“If he’s going to take time out and just cruise for a while, then everyone would understand that,” he said.
“I think that’s probably more likely to see rather than diving into any other possible employment career.
“Things have slightly changed, he’s got a bit older.
“This is a great team, he’s had great drivers, he’s got great personnel there – he probably should and would look to the future for a change of life.”
