F1: Sainz penalised
Carlos Sainz has been handed a 5-place grid penalty for the Mexican Grand Prix. The Williams driver was summoned by the COTA stewards following his collision with Kimi Antonelli in today's United States Grand Prix. Sainz attempted an inside overtake at Turn 15 and a collision between the two cars occurred at the apex. The Williams driver maintained that he had expected Antonelli to leave him space at the apex but the Italian turned in early and Sainz locked brakes when it became clear that a collision was unavoidable.
