F1: '26 car to decide Alonso's future

Fernando Alonso suggests that he'll retire from F1 if the 2026 Aston Martin proves to be a winner. Throughout his career the Spaniard has left a team just as its fortunes changed for the better, however looking ahead to next year this is exactly what the two-time world champion wants to happen. Keen to leave Aston Marin in good shape and on an even keel, should the Adrian Newey designed car be a winner Alonso will walk away from F1. However, if it isn't competitive he is prepared to remain and help fix the car. 'It depends on how I feel next year,' he tells Spain's AS, 'how I feel physically and mentally.
