Perez-Bottas ‘conservative' call sparks debate

Aug.28 Cadillac's decision to launch its Formula 1 program with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas is dividing opinion in the paddock. Dr Helmut Marko, part of the decision to axe Perez after 2024, told Kleine Zeitung that the pairing is solid but cautious. 'They've chosen the conservative route,' the Red Bull advisor said. 'So they know what they have. I spoke with him (Perez) on the phone, and he's motivated. If he's motivated and the car is right, then he'll definitely be back to the level he once was,' he told Kleine Zeitung newspaper. The Mexican was ousted by Red Bull at the end of 2024, while Bottas spent 2025 as Mercedes' reserve after a difficult final stint at Sauber. Sky...
