Coulthard: McLaren rivalry will ‘boil over’ in 2025 title fight

19/08/2025 at 13:0619/08/2025 at 13:50 F1 driver David Coulthard believes McLaren is heading for turbulence as teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri battle for the 2025 drivers’ championship, with the Scot warning that the rivalry will “boil over” before the season is over. At the halfway mark of the campaign, just nine points separate the pair, with Piastri narrowly leading. Both are chasing their first world title in what McLaren has called a “free to race” environment, governed only by a single rule: keep it clean.
