Russell and Verstappen back louder engines for 2026

While the current 1.6 litre V6 engine formula can range between 110 and 120 decibels, it is a far cry from the ear-shattering noise that used to be made by the naturally aspirated V8 and V10 engines. F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali, has made a promise that the new engines will bring back some of the louder noise that has been lost by the electrification and energy harvesting technologies.
