Marko warns ‘very complex matter' caused Verstappen's Melbourne DNF

Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has revealed that the mechanical failure Max Verstappen suffered at the Australian Grand Prix was unrelated to the one he had in Bahrain. The Honda-manufactured Red Bull powertrains have endured a tough start to the 2022 season, with six failures now occurring over the course of the first three races between Red Bull and AlphaTauri. Verstappen was running a comfortable second behind Charles Leclerc when he smelled something strange emanating from the back of his Red Bull in Melbourne, and he ground to a halt shortly thereafter.
