Alonso: "I’m not here to travel around the world"
Fernando Alonso returned to Formula 1 with Alpine in 2021 and managed to grab one podium so far, at the Qatar Grand Prix. For now, the two-time world champion has not really managed to get involved in the battles up front, but that does not mean that Alonso as a driver is still among the best on the current grid. Martin Brundle stated a while ago that in his opinion Alonso is still among the best drivers in the field. According to the Sky Sports commentator, the 40-year-old Spaniard would have also competed for the world championship in the Mercedes (of 2021, ed.) along with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
