Schumacher tells Ferrari: I'm ready to replace Leclerc or Sainz

Mick Schumacher has told Ferrari that he will be ready to step up and race for them in a one-off capacity should Carlos Sainz or Charles Leclerc miss a race. The 23-year-old made his debut with Haas last season alongside fellow rookie Nikita Mazepin, and managed a best finish of 13th at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Russian has since been sacked amid his country’s invasion of Ukraine, and Schumacher has been joined instead by the experienced Kevin Magnussen, who returned after a year away racing in IMSA.
