Ricciardo: 2021 ‘personal growth' greater than at Renault

Daniel Ricciardo felt his 2021 season at McLaren did more for his personal growth than when he left Red Bull for Renault. It came as a great surprise when Ricciardo departed Red Bull to sign with Renault for 2019, a move that saw him go from a team capable of winning in Formula 1 to one still trying to escape the midfield. Ricciardo impressed for the French manufacturer, scoring two podium finishes in his second campaign with the team in 2020 although he made the decision to move again for the following season, signing with McLaren. Particularly in the first half of 2021 Ricciardo struggled, often lagging behind the pace being set by his team-mate Lando Norris. It was an improved picture...
