Singapore Grand Prix renewed until 2028

The Singapore Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until 2028 after reaching an agreement to extend its contract. The Marina Bay Street Circuit became the first-ever host of a night race in F1 in 2008, with Fernando Alonso claiming victory for Renault in a controversial grand prix. Since then, another 11 races have been held in Singapore, with Sir Lewis Hamilton claiming the win for McLaren in 2009 – his second in of that season. Mercedes have been on the top step five times, all in the hybrid era through a combination of Hamilton and Nico Rosberg who claimed victory in his championship-winning 2016 season.
