Hamilton intends to run rainbow helmet in Saudi Arabia
Article To news overview © Mercedes Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton says he plans on running the same rainbow-themed helmet he's using in Qatar this weekend for the final two races of the season in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. Hamilton unveiled his new helmet design ahead of practice at the Losail International Circuit, with the rainbow featuring prominently all over. The rainbow is the symbol of universal inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, with homosexuality completely illegal in Qatar. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, under Islamic Sharia law, also have the same stance on homosexuality, with neither country legally recognising same-sex couples.
