Gasly: I performed at a very good level this season
AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly believes he performed at a very good level this season, and indeed the young driver has been a revelation in 2021, frequently punching above his weight. However, the Frenchman's performance hasn't put him back in the good graces of the Red Bull management, namely Dr. Helmut Marko, after his failed campaign with the team in 2019, where he was demoted back to Toro Rosso after 12 races only to be replaced by Alex Albon who was also let go at the end of 2020 as well, with veteran Racing Point refugee Sergio Perez receiving the nod to partner Max Verstappen in 2021.
