Verstappen happy with third, Horner hails Perez 'sacrifice'
Max Verstappen said he was more than happy to emerge from Friday's qualifying session at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in third place behind the two Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull driver said that it was better than he had been expecting after the team struggled in the single hour-long free practice earlier in the day. "This track is always going to be difficult," Verstappen acknowledged. "We struggled a bit more than we wanted in free practice but we recovered quite well throughout qualifying.
