How astronomical wage demands led to Hill's departure from Williams

Article To news overview Damon Hill left Williams following the 1996 F1 season despite winning the World Championship, with former Engineering Director Patrick Head revealing wage demands played a part in his shock departure. Hill took the title after finishing behind Michael Schumacher the previous two seasons, however his joy was short-lived as Heinz-Harald Frentzen was brought in as his replacement for the 1997 campaign.
