Alonso predicts sprint qualifying format ‘tweaks'
Jul.9 Fernando Alonso thinks Formula 1 will introduce 'tweaks' to the new sprint qualifying format after it debuts next weekend at Silverstone. Seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton has already warned that the short 17-lap race to determine the order of the British GP grid will probably be processional. 'I always like to try new things and it is a format that can bring surprises,' Alonso, 39, said. 'I'm sure there will be tweaks for the other two events, because even Formula 1 is saying this is a test.
