Porsche and Audi present at F1 meeting on 2025 engines

From 2025 onwards Formula 1 wants to use engines that are less complex and require less development costs in order to attract new manufacturers. In Austria an important meeting will take place to discuss this, where also potential competitors Porsche and Audi will join. Future power source Formula 1 Formula 1's plan is to replace the current 1.6L V6 hybrid powerplant. The basic powerplant will remain a V6 running on eco-fuel, but will likely use a larger battery for more energy recovery. Formula One also wants to use standard parts to keep costs down.
