"Stupid Americans, what do they know about sports?"
Bernie Ecclestone was the big man behind Formula 1's commercial growth for years, but has been out of Formula 1 since January 2017. Liberty Media took over four years ago, of which Greg Maffei is quite proud. The president and chief executive officer of the company saw that Ecclestone worked hard for years to put Formula 1 on the map. Although he succeeded quite well, Maffei argues that his predecessor did not exactly have a vision for the future. "Bernie Ecclestone built the product and deserves incredible credit.
