Murray Walker passes away aged 97
Much loved former Formula 1 commentator Murray Walker has passed away at the age of 97, it has been announced. Walker covered the sport for over two decades, working for BBC from 1976 to 1996 before moving to ITV where he worked for four years before retiring. On Saturday evening, The British Racing Drivers’ Club released a statement announcing that he had passed away It’s with great sadness we share the news of the passing of BRDC Associate Member Murray Walker OBE,' a statement read. 'A friend, a true motorsport legend, the nations favourite commentator and a contagious smile. 'We thank Murray for all he has done for our community. 'RIP our friend.'
