Formula 1 drivers allowed to ‘take the knee' in 2021

Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton and fellow drivers look set to be allowed to ‘take the knee again this season after it was revealed that the moment of reflection ahead of races will be condoned. Mercedes driver Hamilton and the majority of F1 drivers knelt to highlight the global fight against racism and discrimination before last year's grand prix race. However, the action proved divisive with several drivers, including Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, electing to stand. All of the drivers wore anti-racism T-shirts.
