Hill: Experience gives Perez power at Red Bull
Damon Hill believes Sergio Perez’s vast F1 experience should give him more clout at Red Bull than was the case with Pierre Gasly or Alex Albon. Red Bull have opted for a change of policy in finalising their 2021 line-up, looking outside their own driver development programme for the first time in 14 years for Max Verstappen’s team-mate. In Perez, they have chosen a man with a decade’s experience on the Formula 1 grid as opposed to fast-tracking a youngster like they did with Gasly and Albon, both of whom failed to cut the mustard alongside Verstappen.
