Vandoorne passed by Mercedes: "It hurts"

When it became known that Lewis Hamilton had to miss the Grand Prix this weekend due to his corona infection, Mercedes test and reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne seemed the most logical choice as a replacement. It was not to be. Disappointment The Belgian driver flew to Bahrain earlier this week, probably thinking he could fill in for Hamilton. Mercedes however chose George Russell and passed Vandoorne.
