Alonso concludes two-day Bahrain test with Renault
Fernando Alonso has wrapped up his private test in the Renault R.S.18 at Bahrain as he continues preparations for his Formula 1 comeback in 2021. The Spaniard completed 93 laps in the car on Wednesday, adding to the 93 he tallied on Tuesday. Alonso has already driven Renault’s 2020 car earlier this year at a filming day in Barcelona, but was limited to just 100 km of running due to strict regulations regarding testing outside grand prix weekends. Teams are allowed to hold private tests at their own expense, but are restricted to using a car that’s at least two years old. Renault was hoping to fit Alonso in the R.S. 20 at the post-season young drivers’ test later this year, however...
