"Hamilton can afford to play poker."

Lewis Hamilton has still not renewed his contract. The world champion is still waiting to sign that, according to old Formula 1 driver Marc Surer, is especially annoying for Mercedes. The Germans are more dependent on Hamilton than Surer thinks the other way around. The season is already well over half but Hamilton is in no hurry to sign a new agreement with his team Mercedes. That is mainly to the disadvantage of Mercedes, Surer thinks. The Germans have already placed their hopes in Hamilton and may well assume that The Brit will sign, although it will take a long time.
