Perez: It ‘hurts' knowing Racing Point will have strong '21 car

Sergio Perez has conceded that his departure from Racing Point 'hurts a bit more' knowing that the team will have a competitive Formula 1 package in the 2021 season. Last week Perez confirmed his departure from the Silverstone-based squad, which will be rebranded to Aston Martin next year, and will be replaced by four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Racing Point has enjoyed a strong opening half to the 2020 campaign, sitting fourth in the Constructors’ Championship with one podium result to its name. Perez had signed a three-year deal in 2019 but will not continue with the team into 2021. “I know I’m leaving a great car that is looking great for next year,” Perez said....
