McLaren expect resurgence from Racing Point

Despite a 16-point cushion, McLaren boss Andreas Seidl fears his team could be caught by Racing Point in the race for third place in the constructors’ World Championship. McLaren enjoyed an excellent Italian Grand Prix, taking P2 and P4 respectively through Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, to move clear as ‘best of the rest’ behind Mercedes and Red Bull. But the picture is skewed somewhat by the fact Racing Point had 15 points deducted as a punishment in the ‘copying’ controversy – a situation that will remain now that all protests against the FIA’s verdict have been dropped.
