Pirelli reveals cause of Kvyat's British GP accident

Pirelli has clarified that a tyre failure was not to blame for the high-speed accident endured by AlphaTauri’s Daniil Kvyat at Formula 1’s British Grand Prix. Kvyat speared off-track through Maggots at Silverstone on Sunday and careered into the barriers. Footage suggested that there was a failure on the right-rear of Kvyat’s AlphaTauri AT01 and sole supplier Pirelli sent the tyre back to its base in Milan. Pirelli has now concluded its investigation into the failure and determined that the tyre was not to blame.
