Pirelli suspects slow puncture caused Kvyat's accident

Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli believes that a slow puncture caused Daniil Kvyat’s high-speed accident during Sunday’s British Grand Prix. AlphaTauri driver Kvyat was running in the midfield during the early stages of the race at Silverstone when he speared off the circuit and into the wall at Maggots. Kvyat was shaken but uninjured in the accident and AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost later suggested that a puncture was at fault, with video footage showing a rear-right failure. “Kvyat’s tyre is obviously a completely different situation [to the three late failures], probably a slow puncture, but again we want to investigate deeply the tyre,” said Pirelli chief Mario Isola....
