Renault talking to ‘big names' over 2021 seat

Renault says it is in discussions with “big names” for 2021 but that any signing must be fully committed to the manufacturer’s Formula 1 project. Daniel Ricciardo will leave Renault for McLaren at the end of the season, opening up a vacancy alongside Esteban Ocon, who is in the first campaign of a two-year deal. Outgoing Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel is ostensibly the highest-profile free agent for 2021 while ex-Renault racer Fernando Alonso has also been tentatively linked with a return. Renault also has Formula 2 drivers Guan Yu Zhou and Christian Lundgaard on its Academy, with Zhou sharing the role of reserve driver alongside former Williams racer Sergey Sirotkin....
