Fans urged to steer clear of Silverstone during F1 double-header

Northamptonshire Police have instructed fans to stay away from Silverstone during the Formula 1 double-header at the start of August. The UK government has gradually eased lockdown measures, allowing larger groups of people to meet. But this freedom has seen concerns grow with regard to the potential for fans to gather en masse outside sporting venues. “We completely understand fans may be tempted to be close to the circuit for the races but unfortunately that will not be possible this year and access to the local area will be extremely restricted," said event commander, Superintendent Dennis Murray.
