Report: Austrian Grand Prix gets government approval, could host fans

The 2020 Austrian Grand Prix has been given the green-light by the Austrian government to kick-off the Formula 1 season, per reports in Austrian media. Having seen the first ten races of the 2020 season either cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, F1 officials have long-targeted Austria for a return to racing, and now it appears they will have their wish. According to Austrian publication Die Motorprofis, an official announcement is set for this weekend, officially approving the two races at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on July 5 and 12.
