Carey: Ecclestone regime ‘complained', didn't ‘fix' issues

Formula 1 boss Chase Carey has criticised the previous regime under Bernie Ecclestone, saying it just 'complained' and didn't 'fix' issues. Carey took over the CEO role in the Formula One Group after Liberty Media completed their purchase of the series in January 2017, replacing Ecclestone. Since taking over Carey has overseen a shift in attitude with F1 looking to expand its global reach, embrace new technologies, but also reduce the costs of competing – something which the new regulations for 2021 will look to address through the introduction of a budget cap.
