Italian GP Qualifying last lap farce under investigation

Italian Grand Prix – The last lap of Q3 is currently under investigation for an extraordinary approach to the final runs of the Q3 Session. As most drivers required a slipstream for their final runs of qualifying, the leaders all scrambled for a position as they made way towards the first turn. The Renault of Daniel Ricciardo decided to drive across the run-off area, while Lance Strolled backed off as to not overtake the Renault. All to gain the magical tow around Monza. This had a knock-on effect as everyone else backed off to not move ahead of the train. As all the drivers tried to stay behind each and due to this, they all got their timings wrong.
